Alice began her softball career in 1949 and continued to play until 1973.  Through the years, Alice played with teams such as The Travelers, Snow Whites, Gregory Brothers, Norfolk Rams, and Virginia Dairy (Richmond).  She played in three ASA Major National tournaments with The Travelers and was assistant coach of Bill’s Restaurant that placed thirteenth in the 1969 Nationals.  In 1958, she and four Snow White teammates got together with the men’s McFadden Texaco team and won the first mixed slow-pitch tournament held in Virginia.  From 1966 to 1973, Alice served as captain of The Travelers and was involved in executing a triple-play in the 1970 ASA National tournament in Parma, Ohio.  At the time of her induction, Alice still instilled her winning attitude into her Lady Titans softball team at Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk.  After taking over as head coach, she won three District titles; was region runner-up once; won the region title in 1985; and, was Virginia AAA state runner-up in 1985.
