Alvin had over thirty years of experience in softball, during which he played for eighteen teams such as American Legion Post 190, Cavalier Manor, Moseberth Chicken in fast-pitch.  He also participated on slow-pitch teams such as Moseberth Chicken, Liontamers, Visions Restaurant, Systems Management, and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  Over his entire career, he had a /605 batting average, hit over six hundred homeruns and had been selected as Most Valuable Player at least sixteen times.
