Special Recognition

Inducted 1995

Bernie played from the late forties through the late fifties.  During this period of time, ASA conducted only one fast-pitch tournament a year.  However, he established an impressive record in this short time before his death.  He played for Lafayette Presbyterian, Park Theater and Virginian Railway.  One year, he pitched seventeen shutouts.  Another year, he won thirty games.  He pitched at least one no-hitter each year.  Very seldom did he allow more than five hits a game.  Bernie played in three State Fast-Pitch Tournaments.  He consistently led his team in batting.  Bernie was highly respected by his peers during that time.
