Bill Myers *

Bill was selected for induction into the Hall of Fame as a Commissioner.  Bill was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chesapeake in 1979.  A position he still held at the time of his induction.  In 1981, Bill was named the Outstanding TVASA Commissioner.  The Central Atlantic Region and nation have Class D Regional and Invitational Nationals due to Bill Myers.  In 1984, Bill came up with the idea for a Regional for these teams.  It grew from twelve local teams the first year to sixty-seven teams in 1989.  At the time of his induction, Bill had hosted over fifty-nine local tournaments along with numerous Metro tournaments in all levels of play.  In addition to his Commissioner work, Bill was an active player for twenty-five years.  In 1985, he pitched a one-hitter and no-hitter back-to-back in the Virginia Commonwealth Games.
