Big Al,’ as he was known, played twelve years in Tidewater.  He started in 1977, but was quickly picked up by the better teams.  He played for O&R Construction, Larry’s Painting and Kirk’s Glass.  He averaged over 120 homeruns a season with a lifetime batting average of .615.  He played in two National tournaments, seven Regional tournaments, and seven Metro tournaments.  He received over twenty MVP awards.
