The history of the Chesapeake Athletic Club (C.A.C.) spans over six decades beginning in 1940 and lasting through the 1990 season.  During World War II, the C.A.C. played fast-pitch softball and won many championships.  In the 1950s, they began to play slow-pitch in the Duffer League, Old Dominion League, and the Commercial League.  C.A.C. teams brought home many awards, but their proudest moment must have been when they played in the Class A National Tournament in Long Island, New York in 1974.
