Ducky joined his father in our Hall of Fame and becomes our second father-son combination.  Ducky started umpiring in 1960 and, at the time of his induction, was still active.  He umpired in six Regional tournaments, both fast– and slow-pitch.  He umpired in two National tournaments, the Class A Industrial tournament in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Women’s Major Slow-Pitch in Nashville, Tennessee.  Ducky was Umpire-In-Chief for two Regional tournaments.  In 1982, he was appointed Deputy Umpire-In-Chief for Tidewater Virginia ASA, a position he still held at the time of his induction.  Ducky was also a player for twenty-one years, starting at the age of eleven.  In addition, he was a manager for eight years,  At the time of his induction, Ducky had been in softball for thirty-four years and was still active.
