David Hensley *

Manager

Inducted 1998

David Hensley was involved in softball for over twenty-five years.  From 1971 through 1982, he played softball for his church, South Norfolk Baptist.  David umpired for five years from 1991 through 1995, serving as a deputy to the Umpire-In-Chief.  His greatest love was managing.  His Pony League team grew up and played for him when he formed the South Norfolk Seahawks.  His teams won seven ASA tournament championships and five league titles and placed ninth in the National Class C Tournament in 1986.  The Seahawks had a .623 winning percentage.  David stated his “teams were successful because we got along well.”  This is attributed to his leadership and love for the game.
