Legends (Fast- and Slow-Pitch Player)

 

Dennis Wagner played fast-pitch softball from 1941 through 1963 for a total of twenty-two years.  Dennis was an All-Star six years.  He carried a lifetime batting average of .327 with 109 homeruns.  As a pitcher, he won 266 games.  He played in one State tournament and his teams won fourteen city and county championships.  He then played slow-pitch for fifteen years from 1964 through 1978.  He had a batting average of .671 with 141 homeruns.  Dennis also coached and umpired for thirteen years.  He worked at Chesapeake Parks and Recreation where he supervised girls’ softball.  Dennis Wagner was inducted in the Legends category as a fast- and slow-pitch player.
