Donnie Wooten has been playing softball from 1983 through 2000.  In those eighteen years, he put up impressive numbers.  Donnie was the sparkplug, a career .650 hitter and an excellent outfielder for the Virginia Beach First Nazarene Church team for over a decade.  He helped lead his team to over sixty tournament titles including six Metro tournaments, eleven Nazarene State and five National Nazarene Championships.  He was named to two local All-Star teams and two All-American teams.  He earned eleven MVP awards including one in a National tournament.  In 1999, he helped the Norfolk Firefighters win the International Firefighters 40 & over Tournament of Champions.  Donnie was well respected by his teammates and by the opposing teams.
