Doug Cobb

Doug Cobb played softball in and around Tidewater for twenty-two years.  He had a lifetime batting average of .550.  Doug played on some of Tidewater’s best men’s teams that included Cee Bass Realty, Atlantic Sales, Friar Tucks, The Eagles, Holland Construction and Dryden and Son.  Over the years, Doug went to four ASA National tournaments and six Regional tournaments and had over forty local tournament titles along with thirteen runner-up titles.  In addition to these team titles, he was named to eight All-Star and All-Tournament teams.  Through the years, Doug played in the outfield, first-base and pitcher with his major contributions being his great glove at first-base and his ability to ‘plug-up’ the middle as a pitcher.
