Doyle Watkins played or managed continuously from 1950 through 2004 for a total of fifty-four years.  He played fast-pitch softball for three years with the Newport News Apprentice School.  Then, for the next fifty years, he played or managed slow-pitch softball.  Doyle was on many league championship teams.  He played in four National tournaments, five World Series tournaments, one Super World tournament, and three State tournaments.  At the time of his induction, Doyle was playing in the Tidewater Senior League.
