Earl has served as a Slow Pitch Softball manager for 35 years.
Starting in the Norfolk City Youth Leagues his team was the League Champion for 4 seasons 1973 - 1976.
His women's team were the Norfolk City Champions for the entire decade of the 1980's from 1980 - 1989. Ha also managed the Men's and Co-Ed Champion in 1996.
He has managed teams in over 10 National Championships winning titles and placing as runner-up. In 1989 his team was the Women's Class A Champion, 1994 Women's World Series Champions and 2008 NSA Women's Senior Champions. In the middle were 2 runner-up finishes in the Women's World Series in 2001 and 2004.
