Ed has been involved in coaching softball for over 20 years. He has coached men's league, church and Co-Ed in the adult softball arena and he has coached youth fast pitch and high school girls fast pitch for the younger players.

His men's teams won numerous Virginia Beach City Championships and competed in the Tidewater Championships on two occasions.

In 1998 Ed moved into Men's (Major Division) with a travel team in which they won two National Championships. His team competed in Texas, Missouri, Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama, North and South Carolina, Virginia and in Tennessee in two Smokey Mountain Classic Tournaments. The Smokey Mountain Classic is an Invitational only tournament that only the top teams in the NATION are invited to. His two National titles were the 2000 ISA World Championship in Auburn, Alabama and in 2001 they won the National Softball Association (NSA) World Championship.

While moving into youth fast pitch he coached the Lady Thunder, Blue Angels and the Future Gold teams. The Lady Thunder team in one season won 39 local games run ruling their opposition in 38 of those games and continuing on to finish 4th of 130 in the National Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

After youth fast pitch Ed has coach Greenbrier Christian Academy girl fast pitch team where they won back to back State titles.

Ed has coached some of the best in the men's game along with young ladies who have been selected All Tidewater, All State, Tidewater Player of the Year and many have received partial and full scholarships for college.
