Harry Rest Umpire Inducted 1999
Harry Rest umpired from 1977 through 1999 for a total of twenty-three years. He served as Deputy Umpire-In-Chief for seven years and, in 1996, was appointed TVASA Umpire-In-Chief. Harry umpired in twenty Metro tournaments, sixteen Regional tournaments and three National tournaments. In addition, he umpired in one Armed Forces Championship. Under his leadership, he solicited berths for ten local umpires in National tournaments. In 1997, he was inducted into the National Indicator Fraternity. In 1998, Harry served as the proxy for the TVASA Commissioner at the National Council Meeting in San Diego, California. In 1999, he hosted the National Umpire School in Tidewater. |
