Jimmy’s softball career began in 1962 when he played with a team called Chesapeake Beach.  In 1965, he began managing the Zodiac and won the Virginia Beach City Championship as well as two tournaments in two years.  While managing The Raven team, they won two city championships, one Metro tournament and six ASA tournaments.  During the four years he managed the Virginia Beach Merchants (1970-1974), he managed an .800 record with 242 wins with ten ASA tournament wins.  From 1976-1981, he managed the North Landing Line Construction Company team.  Those years brought 656 wins.  They played in three Regional tournaments, won two Metro tournaments, and four city and league championships.  In the seventeen years that Jimmy managed teams, a record of 1,248 games were won while losing only 342.
