JoAnn Moore played softball for thirty-one years from 1968 through 2001.  During that time, she played in four Metro tournaments, three Regional tournaments, and two National tournaments.  In 1992, her team, the D.C. Controllers, placed second in the National tournament in Marietta, Georgia.  JoAnn was named to the First Team All-American in  that tournament.  She  made All-Tidewater  team  twice  and won numerous MVP awards.  JoAnn played in approximately 1,000 games with a batting average of .450.  Year after year, she earned the role as the team leader.
