Buck Campbell served as the ASA Portsmouth District Commissioner for eight years from 1961 to 1968.  In 1968, he was appointed the first Metro Norfolk ASA Commissioner.  Buck served two years and attended ASA Council meetings both years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  His duties as a Commissioner included planning, organizing and conducting all local tournaments including championship play.  Buck played fast-pitch for ten years and played in four State tournaments in Richmond, Virginia.  He also played slow-pitch for five years.  As a player/manager, his team won the State Industrial Championship in 1961 and went to the National Industrial tournament in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In addition, Buck umpired fifteen years and headed the Umpires’ Association for two years.
