Johnny started playing softball almost immediately after high school and early on set his sights on the National level.  He achieved this goal in 1971 as his team, with him playing shortstop, won the World Championship.  During his fifteen years in area softball, Johnny brought to this area the first “big-time” softball competition, served as Virginia Beach Commissioner and brought to our area National recognition with his fine teams.
