Kim Barnes started playing softball in 1972 in the youth leagues. Kim continued to play adult and co-ed softball for a total of thirty-seven years.
As a youth player, she was a seven time All-Star. In high school she was selected to the All-District and All-Region teams.
Kim was also a six time All-Star selection and a thirteen time MVP selection in the adult program. She played in eight State Tournaments and twenty-one National Touraments with some of the best teams in the area.
