Linwood was involved for thirty years as a player and manager.  He played for many teams in the area most notably Virginia Door and Robo Wash (both Hall of Fame teams).  In addition, he played for Bethel Baptist in the Church Division.  At the same time, he managed Men’s Industrial and women’s teams for ten years.  As a player and manager, he participated in six Regional tournaments and eight Metro tournaments.  He won five MVP awards.  He was known for his hustle on and off the field.
