The Liontamers were a unique type of team.  They were a group of players from Chesapeake who sponsored themselves for over twenty years.  They were well dressed, paid their bills on time, and were respected by all teams, umpires and officials.  They played in tournaments every available weekend for a total of over one hundred and twenty during those twenty years.  They won two Metro tournaments, two Regional tournaments, and many of the better local tournaments.  Sponsors come and go and are usually for short periods of time.  The Liontamers sponsored a team for twenty years, which may be a record for sponsors in our area.
