Melvin has played the game for over 40 years with the top teams in the Tidewater Area.
He played with such teams as the Bobcats, Pirates, ILA Cubs, Senior Team DHF, Overhead Door and ILA Fifty Plus Seniors. His teams 7 Tournaments and multiple 2nd place finishes.
He appeared in 4 Metros and 12 Senior Nationals being selected All World/all Tournament on multiple occasions and selected as the MVP 3 times.
He has also sponsored a team for 6 years and been a Manager for 12 seasons.
He presently carries a .740 batting average in the
Tidewater Senior League and hold the honor of being the first African American
coach in the Tidewater Senior Division to coach a Senior Team to win a National
Championship.
