Inducted 2005

The history of the Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church Softball Team spans five decades beginning in 1967 through 2005.  In 1967, two teams were formed and played in the Chesapeake City League.  One team was made up mostly of future Virginia Door players and only played about three years.  Virginia Door was inducted into our Hall of Fame in 1985.  The other church team continued to play through 2005, for a total of thirty-eight years.  They played in over three hundred tournaments winning at least seventy-five.  They won twelve City League titles.  Mt. Pleasant appeared in one National Church Tournament in 1974, four Central Atlantic Regional tournaments, and was Metro Tidewater Champion four times.  They also played in many Mennonite National Church Tournaments in Indiana, winning two.
