Phil Fansher played softball for over thirty years and was still active at the time of his induction.  He started umpiring in 1970.  He umpired in twelve  Metro  tournaments, seven Regional tournaments, and three National tournaments each time receiving high grades.  Phil umpired over 1,000 games in his career including ASA, city league and high school fast-pitch in District and Regional playoffs.  He was a member of the National Indicator Fraternity, one of the most prestigious honors bestowed upon an ASA umpire.  In 2001, Phil was appointed as the TVASA Seniors’ Commissioner and became a voting member of the Central Atlantic Regional Council.
