Robert Lassiter served twenty-one years as a player, two years as a coach, and eight years as an umpire.  He excelled as a player.  A lot of players considered him one of the best players in Tidewater pound for pound.  He started with the South Norfolk Seahawks in 1980 and ended his career in 2000 with the Old Dominion Roofing and Siding Team.  He was as well-known for his defense as for his offense (three All-Defensive teams).  He batted over seven hundred.  Robert was on the Tidewater All-Star Team seven times and received twenty-six MVP awards.  He played in ten National tournaments.  In addition, Robert served two years as the Chesapeake ASA Commissioner.
