Robert P. ‘Bob’ Savoie

Bob Savoie started umpiring in 1969.  In his career, he worked over 5,500 games including four National tournaments.  A native of Washington, the first out-of-town Regional tournament he umpired was the Men’s Major Fast Pitch in Hampton.  After that, Bob visited us many times.  He conducted sixteen TVASA Metro Umpire Clinics and one National Umpire School that TVASA hosted.  Bob was a guest speaker at the TVASA Hall of Fame Banquet four times.  Since 1989, Bob was the Central Atlantic Regional Umpire-In-Chief (UIC).  In that position, he gave direction to our umpires.  As a National Deputy UIC, he was in charge of fifty-five National tournaments and conducted over thirty umpire schools including two in Germany.  Bob Savoie always helped us in any capacity in which we requested.
