Bob has been involved in softball as a coach and player since 1962 for a total of 48 years. His involvement has included teams such as Virginia Door, Bethel Baptist and R. Jordan to name a few.
He maintained a batting average over .500. Bob has received numerous awards through the game but his pride rests in his 2009 ASA All Tournament Team selection in Burlington, North Carolina where he had a .818 batting average. He was also selected on the ISSA 2008 All World Team at the Winter National games.
Bob was instrumental in helping form the first Tidewater Senior Leagues serving on the first Board of Directors as Treasurer. He has been on Senior Travel Tournament teams for 50/55/50/65. In addition to coaching softball he has coached 3 other sports in all age groups. He served as manager of a Women's Softball Team that won the first Chesapeake's Park and Recreation League and Tournament for women.
