Ron was one of our fast-pitch players who brought national attention to himself and our area with his talents and athletic abilities.  He started playing in North Carolina in 1958 and move to our area in 1964.  In those sixteen years, he won four hundred games and lost but 112.  In 1969, Ron became the first fast-pitch player to be names to the first Team All-American Team at the Fast Pitch National Tournament.  He participated in ten National tournaments, with a perfect game in the 1969 Nationals.  At the time of his induction, Ron continued to coach and manage and was active in youth leagues of his community.
