Scharlene Floyd did not start playing softball until she was twenty-seven. She gave much to the game and deserved special recognition. Her career spanned twenty-seven years. Scharlene was married on a softball field, had children and grandchildren and continued to play at the time of her induction and batted over .500. She played in over one hundred ASA tournaments. She played in five Metro tournaments, two Regional tournaments and one Area tournament. For over fifteen years, she played both women and co-ed the same year. In addition to ASA play, she make the Norfolk City League All-Star Team nine times. |
