Talbot Park was the leader in ASA church softball in Tidewater from 1966 to 1975, but did not limit themselves to only church tournaments.  To improve on their game, they entered tournaments and competed against some of the best Major and Class A teams around.  Some of these teams included Friar Tucks, River Oaks Shell, Robo’s and Atlantic Sales.  Over the years, Talbot Park won over twenty tournaments locally and two ASA Regional titles.  In 1973, the team traveled to the ASA National tournament in Waterlou, Iowa where they finished fifth.  In 1975, the team again played in the ASA National tournament in Marrietta, Georgia, and finished seventh in the nation.
