Teresa started playing softball at the age of 12 and has played for at least 1 team each year since. She joined the Newport News Women's League in 1970 and played for 39 years.
Through her career "Tee" has received numerous personal awards from Most Valuable Player and All State Tournaments selections. Her most treasured honor was being selected by her teammates as MVP in the USSSA Dudley/Tom Hunter Memorial NIT Women's Class "B" Tournament. This was 1993 and it was also the 1st time in the 20 year history of this prestigious tournament that a Peninsula team captured the title in the "A" and "B" Class.
"Tee" continuously maintained over a .500 batting average throughout her career leading her team each season in doubles and hits.
