Mr. Thomas Little, Sr. (International Longshoremen Association)/(ILA) Local 1248 has sponsored teams since the early 1970's. In the 70's they sponsored "ILA Rockets" and ILA "Rockets". In the 1980's and 1990"s they sponsored a men's team. In 2000 through 2010 he continued to sponsor a Men's team and a Senior's team. In 2011 he has 3 teams: ILA Cubs men, ILA Seniors and ILA "Ballers" in the women's division.

Mr. Little, officers and members of Local 1248 have been the backbone of their teams by making sure that each season the teams have new uniforms, entry fees for tournaments are paid and lodging is paid when the teams win bids to various National, International and World Tournaments.

The teams have won several Tidewater ASA League Championships. The ILA Fifty plus Senior team has won 3 National Championship titles, the 2010 International World Cup Championship, the 2010 ASA/PSA State Championship, the 2010 Down Syndrome Charity Tournament Champions and the 2010 American Division League Champions. The ILA Fifty Plus has been featured in several National Softball magazines and the Coach of ILA Fifty Plus Senior team was awarded International and National Coach of the Year for 2009.

The ILA teams have competed in more than 95 sanctioned tournaments, 2 ISF International World Cup, 5 USSSA and 6 ISSA World Championships.

The International Longshoremen Association Local 1248 and Mr. Thomas Little have supported teams for over 30 years and that kind of dedication is hard to surpass.
